The River Aire offers a huge range of opportunities for volunteering
The Aire Rivers Trust runs a volunteering programme in the Bradford city region called River Aire Care. If you are interested in participating, please get in touch with our River Aire Care Project Officer Nick Milsom.
Volunteering is a great way to find out more about your river and make it a better place for people and wildlife. We are a friendly group that always welcomes new people.
During DNAire we are looking to work with volunteers all along the river from Leeds to Skipton to help us improve our rivers. Our river stewardship programme will include removing bankside flood debris; removing invasive plants and tree planting to reduce erosion and slow the water flow in the upper Aire catchment.
We hope that DNAire will enable us to better understand our river. We are keen to work with volunteers to monitor the river’s health and to research its history. Please register your interest and we can keep you up to date on opportunities as the main part of the project progresses.
